Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are a force to be reckoned with. This dynamic duo, who are the creative directors of LVMH-owned brand Kenzo are back at it again with another collaboration: this time with Swedish behemoth H&M.
The two designers were handpicked by the brand as its 2016 designer collaborators, with the Kenzo x H&M collection set to hit stores and the retailer’s website on Nov. 3. Vogue has also reported that a runway show for the range will take place in October.
According to a release from H&M, Kenzo was chosen as the latest collaborator on account of its “vibrant and playful” vibe that “captures the energy of global culture to create its unique, youthful spirit.” Details on the clothing and accessories for both men and women have yet to be announced but we would expect a lot of signature Kenzo designs to be featured.
When asked by H&M’s Magazine what message they wished to send out with this upcoming collection, Leon stated, “We wanted to really tell the story of the brand and of us. Together with H&M, we will invite all the customers and fans to the real Kenzo world.”
The co-founders of Opening ceremony have a long list of collaborations under their belts – from working with Vans, Evian, New Era, Google, Levi’s, Teva, Pendleton, Keds, Dr. Martens, etc., working with blockbuster films “Spring Breakers,” “Tron: Legacy” and “The Muppets”, to teaming up with fashion muses Chloë Savigny & Spike Jonze, – they are a sure choice for H&M.
