Here is The List of VIPs for MET Gala 2015

For sheer glitz, nothing beats the soiree at the New York Metropolitan Museum. Hosted by the US Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, annually, the Met Gala is the Oscar-equivalent for the fashion industry.

The Met Gala has always been a star-studded event with attendance from Hollywood heavy-hitters such as Rihanna, Madonna, Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper. Entry ticket to such event is reportedly starting as high as US$25,000 per seat.

The soiree is set to take place on May 4, 2015 and it will preclude the opening of a new Costume Institute exhibit, “China: Through the Looking Glass.

We applaud this year theme, “China: Through the Looking Glass”, but we are left a little bit disappointed with the VIP list. While the soiree itself will be co-hosted by Wendy Deng and Gong Li, we hardly see any Chinese celebrities or models (Liu Wen, Fan Bing Bing, Zhang Zi Yi, Li Bing Bing) invited to attend the gala. The event’s theme should be good enough reason to embrace a diverse cast of attendees.

The VIP List is like a combination of mushy white breads and cauliflowers – basic. If we didn’t know any better about the new exhibit, looking at the list of the VIP attendees, we would have thought that the theme was, “White Privilege: Through the Looking Glass”.
