Apple has been working extra hard to make sure that their new Apple Watch will be the next big thing, especially if it becomes the latest “must-have” accessory. Not that it will be hard for Apple, but some added certainties do not hurt.
Sebastien Jondeau, Karl Lagerfeld‘s bodyguard-turn-model, shared on Instagram the photo of the gift. The custom all-gold Apple Watch is expected to cost more than the standard gold version (retails at US$12,000 to $15,000.)
Apple, however, has been hit with a little setback for its launch in Switzerland, the home of luxury watches. A Singapore businessman, William Leong, owned the trademark to the word, “Apple Watch”.
The trademark gives Mr. Leong the exclusive rights to use the word “Apple” on jewellery, including watches; it also covers the use of of apple images on jewellery, precious stones, watches and timepieces of any kind.
Apple will first launch the Apple Watch in 9 different countries – Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the UK and the US – in April 24, 2015.
Will this very generous gesture mean that we will see collaboration between Chanel and Apple?
