The Swedish retail giant H&M has unveiled the winner of the H&M Design Award 2014 and we’re absolutely loving their choice.
The 24 year old designer named Eddy Anemian (remember that name ladies and gents) had his dreams come true when the brand named him the winner recently.
The Swedish brand has been championing new designers with its Annual Design award since 2012, and Eddy was hand-picked for the prestigious award by a jury of industry hot-shots that included designer Erdem Moralioglu, Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery and H&M’s Head of Design, Ann-Sofie Johansson.
Citing Tilda Swinton in the movie I Am Love, and the French painter Ingres as his design inspirations, the young, and we must say, very talented designer received a €50,000 cash prize, as well as a chance to present his collection at Mercedes-Benz Stockholm Fashion Week. As if this career boost isn’t enough on its own, Eddy also produced key garments from his 10-piece runway show and will be making it into a capsule collection which will sold globally at H&M stores and online. This is one lucky lad!
“All of the judges fell in love with Eddy’s collection, both the romance of how it looks when it is worn, and the extraordinary skill of his work seen up close. He is a worthy winner, and a bright new star for fashion’s future,” Johansson said.
Anemian’s collection for the retailer will range from $29.95 to $349 and you’ll be able to get your hands on these stunning pieces on October 23 so mark the date in your calendars people!
