It’s not called a catwalk for nothing. The sexiness of our feline friends seemed to be irresistible for some fashion brands as we recently encountered not one but two fashion alerts concerning cats this week!
After the whole Hello Kitty is not a cat engagement a few weeks ago, the arguably world’s most famous anthropomorphized cat (like) is back with sparkling news.
Two Japanese icons, world renowned MIKIMOTO pearl jewelry and Sanrio’s Hello Kitty teamed up to launch MIKIMOTO X HELLO KITTY Collection this September in Singapore. Set on the same day as the first year anniversary of MIKIMOTO’s flagship boutique in The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands Singapore, this much anticipated special collection featured elegant pearl jewelry with subtle hints of Hello Kitty visual cues in their design.
The collection is comprised of 10 sophisticated designs including pendants, earrings and silver bangles which the design team from MIKIMOTO has made an uncompromising effort in integrating the elements of Hello Kitty into their jewelry to emphasize the elegance of the brand, and at the same time adding a unique character and charm to it. Hello Kitty and MIKIMOTO fans can start buying them at the MIKIMOTO flagship store at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, Takashimaya and Centrepoint in Singapore.
Not to be upstaged Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved pet/muse Choupette, inspired Fashion’s most important polymath and design genius into launching a capsule collection comprising of T-shirts, sweaters, bags, coin purse, shoes under his eponymous line. This collection of course features whimsical/menacing cartoon drawings of the now famous feline. The collection will be available from November 2014.
