Thieves are aiming at your Hermes ladies! The French luxury market has seen an upswing in crime this year with robberies at Dior and Céline in April and Colette boutiques in March totaling over $1 million worth of stolen goods.

Meanwhile in the US, for what it seems like a script fit for the Bling Ring sequel, “The Largest Closet in America” was robbed of nearly US $1 Million in luxury items. Theresa Rommers, the owner of the closet, was shocked as she returned home to see her 3-storey closet nearly empty as the robbers swiped handbags, furs and jewellery, including all of her limited edition Hermes Birkin bags.

Perhaps because of its ultra-luxury status, Hermes keeps being the target. Sometime during the night between July 31 and August 1, thieves hit the Rogerville shipping port in Oudalle, France and made off with a single container that held over €450,000 (approx. $601,972) worth of Hermès fragrances.

While a full investigation is currently in the works, Hermès has only commented on the incident insofar as acknowledging the robbery and total price of merchandise stolen.

Clutch those Hermes bags tightly, ladies.
