“Ecce Homo”, or “Behold The Man”, is the latest photography artwork by Evelyn Bencicova. Part eerie, part haunting, these photographs picture faceless nude models, both male and female, in an array of interesting positions.

“Behold The Man” is a common inspiration derived from the bible that has expanded to include war and violence.

The phrase itself first appeared in the Vulgate translation of John 19:5, spoken by Pontius Pilate, when he presented Jesus Christ crowned with thorns to a hostile crowd prior to his Crucifixion.

The artwork, however, spared us the gory details often attached to the theme, but it still permeates the mystery of what the artist is trying to depict.
