British designer, Thomas Tait, won the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize.
Tait was chosen as the winner against 11 other competitors vying for the coveted title and prize. he will receive €300,000 to invest in his eponymous label in addition to a year-long mentorship.
The competition was highly-publicised and highly-acclaimed due to the jury enormous credentials. The judicial panel consists of Karl Lagerfeld, Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Riccardo Tisci, Raf Simons, Phoebe Philo, Kenzo’s creative duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, Delphine Arnault, and LVMH executives Pierre-Yves Roussel and Jean-Paul Claverie.
Details have yet to reveal who is going to mentor the winner but we are quite sure that all eyes will be on Tait’s debut line as the winner of the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize.
