Except that this scenario was touched with magic: dancing salesmen, glamorous lady shoppers on pin-thin heels and the products — Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, say, or Daz laundry detergent — transformed into handbags.
Handbags! Only during London Fashion Week, and only from Anya Hindmarch, could there be such a conjunction of wit, style and a funky attitude. There was artistry in the sumptuous intarsia handwork that laid Tony the Tiger on a sleek leather tote or transformed a simple clutch into a bronzed Bourbon sandwich cookie.
