As the fashion world is slowly turning east for inspiration and for discovering new talents and future opinion leaders of the industry – the Orient is yet to produce a Supermodel with the same prominence as Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista or a Cindy Crawford. But to see more Asian models walking major shows and fronting big brand campaigns is a good sign that we are on our way to finally having one.
Helping with the search are model searches across the region and among the biggest and most prominent among them is SUPERMODELME. Being the sole Asian representative at the International Digital Emmy Award 2013, hit reality modelling competition series SUPERMODELME sets to make a dramatic return on 18 November, on every Mondays at 8pm on DIVA Universal (StarHub TV Channel 522) and 20 November, on every Wednesdays at 10pm on MediaCorp Channel 5 with a brand new overseas location, fresh partnerships and exciting new brands. The highly-anticipated fourth season, titled SUPERMODELME Femme Fatale, will uncover 12 model hopefuls of Asian descent living under one roof and overcoming a series of physically and mentally gruelling challenges to compete against one another to be the ultimate femme fatale of Asia.
As the theme of this season suggests, SUPERMODELME Femme Fatale’s contestants will embody a sense of sensual sexuality and mesmerising mystery. Viewers can look forward to the compelling message of Women Empowerment, coupled with the inspiring importance of independence and confidence. These model hopefuls will be faced with extreme tasks and exciting photo shoots that will require them to build resilience and beat the odds to win the career-launching grand prize of SGD$35,000 cash; carving the path to their future in the modelling industry.
